Hardened Connectivity
US Conec is entering the hardened fiber optic connector (HFOC) space with the new, small-form-factor HEC-DC connector. Combining DirectConec™ push-pull simplicity, GR- and IEC-compliant reliability, and available Elite® MT ferrule performance, the HEC-DC is a versatile, IP68-rated connector solution enabling high density and high performance for applications ranging from Fiber to the Home (FTTH), to Fiber to the Antenna (FTTA), to industrial and military applications.
The HEC’s 19mm housing diameter allows for much tighter adapter spacing than traditional HFOC’s, enabling smaller closures, wall boxes, and terminals. The DirectConec™ boot and blind-mate alignment features allow users to quickly install the connector, even with gloves on. There is no bayonet or threaded housing to fumble with, and no risk of contaminating the ferrule as you feed the connector into the adapter. The connector securely locks in place with an audible “click”, and removing the connector is a simple 40° twist of the boot and pull. The HEC is available in a simplex SC and 12F MPO format, and the duplex format uses a traditional duplex LC footprint rather than a proprietary solution.
Simply push the connector until it “clicks” into place. No finger-straining bayonet or threaded housings to align. No tools. Removal is as simple as a quick 40° twist of the boot and pull.
All HEC connectors can be easily fed into the adapter ports of fully populated closures due to patented blind-mate features around the ferrule. These ensure proper alignment and prevent unwanted contamination.
The MT version of the HEC delivers proven Low Loss, MT Elite® performance in a hardened connector package. Premium, Low Loss APC/SC and UPC/LC versions are available as well.
The duplex HEC connector is the only small form-factor HFOC that intermates with a traditional LC duplex connector.
The HEC connector is IP68 rated and compliant to Telcordia’s rigorous GR-3120 and GR-3152 standards as well as IEC 61753-1 OP+ Category A, G, S (outdoor aerial, ground & subterranean).
The HEC is compatible with both round and flat drop cables, and can withstand 450N/100lbf pull force, making it suitable for FTTH, FTTA, and numerous other applications.
